Week 2 Profile: Nick Riggs

This week our profile player is Nick Riggs. Nicky played high school ball at Clarence and then played some in college at ECC. He is the quintessential leadoff hitter for the Tigers. He takes pitches, hits for average and is blazingly fast on the basepaths. Riggs regularly patrols the outfield with grace, (except for the time he dropped a ball in East Aurora and I blamed him for me allowing about 85 hits.) He is also going to get more time on the mound as the season unfolds. Besides baseball, Riggs enjoys playing pool and cards, breaking lawn chairs at Sloppy Box's house, and painting on his baseball pants. But my favorite Nick Riggs story is the time that I convinced him the electric door at the Adam's Mark was run by water power. "Oh yeah," he exclaimed, "I can hear the water in it!" as he pressed his ear to the door. Classic Nicky Riggs.
