Chris Angelo is one of the original Lancaster Tigers. And an original is certainly what he is. After starring at St. Joe's and then Williamsville North, Chris went on to play Division I hockey at Canisius College. It was there that he honed his unique vocabulary, among other things. Golden Boy, as he has glossed himself, has been known to have created such catch phrases as, "down low where grandma hides the milk." He also serves as the Tigers resident fashion expert. He readily serves up commentary on someone's "flow," their "jibs" or even their "duster." Chris is the only Tiger whose glove matches his jersey and is also the lone member of the team to have his number embroidered on his batting gloves. Some of you may remember Chris' meltdown a few weeks ago that resulted in him throwing his bat against the fence. He learned that technique as a kid, probably not yet even in his teens. We were golfing at Elma Meadows and Chris hit a shot that apparently wasn't to his liking. Next thing I know, Chris' driver is stuck in the top of a tree. I was the only one tall enough at the time to reach the tree's lowest branches so I got stuck climbing up to rescue the club. I probably yelled at him that day too, lol. |
